Halloween: Not just for kids?

Do you remember when you were so excited for halloween that you tried your costume on at least a dozen times before the big day and made sure you had the largest pillow case in the house ready to go?! Do you remember racing back home after a long night of saying "trick or treat" in your most polite voice, then dumping all of the candy and treasures into the middle of the family room floor to examine your goodies further, making sure nothing healthy accidentally crawled into your bag. My nieces helped me remember some of that halloween excitement this year. We went on a hike on the friday eve of Halloween and they were beside themselves with excitement for the next days festivities and being able to wear their costumes. How quickly we forget about the fanciful!
I was trying to keep the fanciful spirit up when I came home from my nieces halloween party to go to my own Halloween party. As I sucked in my gut and held my breath to try and zip up the final part of my costume, I was still trying to keep up my spirit. On the one hand, I was a little proud of myself that I was able to squeeze into my cheerleading uniform from 1994, on the other hand, I really had to squeeze in, so I felt like I was wearing a corset the whole night... no wonder the women of the 1800's needed fainting couches.

A Bernese Hippie! The cutest thing! My Brother's neighbor's Bernese Mountain Dog.

Trying to squeeze into this old uniform took some effort and a lot of sucking in!
