I had such a great time in mid October with Tara and Kenny at their wedding in Reidsville, NC at the absolutely beautiful Chinqua Penn Plantation - http://www.chinquapenn.com/! Kenny and Tara are my nephew in-law and niece in-law and as I said in my last blog for their rehearsal dinner, they are just the sweetest couple that have such a bright future ahead! Kenny is a local firefighter that risks his life to save others and Tara is heading towards a nursing degree, in which she will also help save lives!
I can start out saying, "it didn't rain", however, the temperatures did decide to do a drastic swing that wedding weekend, from the normal 75+ degree day to a 50 degree day. I find it rather ironic that the wedding we photographed last year on the very same weekend did the exact same thing... is it us or is it just the normal NC up and down weather of October? I will go with NC! ;-) Despite the frigid temperatures (anyone reading this in or from the northern states, are saying 50 is frigid? What?... I'm a southern gal and anything below 60 is frigid to me!), the day, the place, the ceremony, the reception, everything was just beautiful! The ceremony site was gorgeous with a black rod iron overhang and aged stone walls as the backdrop. After the ceremony, we headed out to take about 10 minutes for portraits and a couple Bride and Groom, shots... after 10 minutes everybody was running towards the warmth and ready to party!
Thanks to Tracy, my second shooter, for helping with the wedding and freezing Friday night and Saturday with us! ;-) You were such a great help!
I had such a blast and wish Tara and Kenny lots of love and happiness!
Love, love, love the colors of this bouquet!!! Gorgeous Tara!
The garter catch pic below is too funny because you will notice a very shocked gentleman on the right of the very excited garter catcher. He is the boyfriend of the young single female whom just caught the bouquet earlier! Click on the image to enlarge to see it better! ;-)
