Baby Portraits: Life is a miracle

This portrait session was taken of my dear friend's baby girl, Brooke. I have known Allison since we were about 9 years old and we grew up/tumbled together in a gym from 9 until almost through High School. I had the pleasure of photographing her 6mth old before Christmas and it was so great to see my friend and meet her newest addition to the family.

In Brooke's case, life is truly a miracle. Although this sweetest baby girl started her life with a challenge, she is showing to be a strong trooper and is plowing through the challenge with heart melting smiles. She was born in late June of 2009 and at this portrait session in Late December of 2009, she was registering around 10.3 pounds. She was born with several intestinal complications such that she is fed by way of a feeding tube to insure she receives enough nutrients to keep her weight increasing. At last check she was steadily gaining weight and as she ages, so do her intestines, so the hope is that she will eventually be able to keep her weight with proper diet.

With the first several month's of Brooke's life in the hospital, her mom has been through so much that I can't even imagine. Even through all of that, she still had smiles and was so happy just to be able to snuggle and kiss all over her little baby girl.

I feel blessed that I was able to capture Brooke's unfailingly sweet smiles. She is going to grow up to be a beautiful young women and captivate everyone with her sweetness!
