My melons are almost ripe!

Get that mind out of the gutter! My melons... aka... cantaloupe are almost ripe (I think). I love to plant flowers, herbs, veggies, but I tend to forget about the "tending to" part after you have done the planting. So, I have a gigantic cantaloupe plant that has literally taken over my garden and lots of baby cantaloupe growing, what do I do with it now? I have tried to do a bit of research on "when" the cantaloupe is ripe for the plucking, still not quite sure. I think I am just more excited that I actually have something growing!
