Family Portraits: Nieces, Blackberries and Sunshine!

Last week, I asked my brother if I could borrow my nieces for a photo session, with the main theme sun and sunflowers. During the summer in North Carolina, photo sessions tend to lesson, especially outdoor sessions because it is just too darn hot. Registered at 102 degrees yesterday! I like to do a session, once/twice a week to keep my skills and creativity up! ;-)

In passing, my brother and I discussed the possibility of my nieces spending the night after our photo session, and when I called the day of and asked if the girls could come over, my brother said, "they've already got there bags packed for the sleepover"! How sweet is that! I know there is going to be a time in the too near future that they won't be excited for a sleepover, so I have to make sure I really enjoy these moments!

I think I had more fun than the girls! ;-) We went to an open field near, where the grass is high, the old barns are weathered, and the blackberry bushes are flourishing! I ended up having to do bribery deals... "if you take one more photo, we can get a bag and pick as many blackberries as you like".

I know I am bias, but my nieces are just beautiful! I loved playing with the sun flare, positioning the sunflower, and working with the external flash (remote triggered).

After our session, we, of course, had some yummy pizza, soda, and since I am not their parents, choc chip cookies at 10pm at night! ;-) This was then followed by a dress up session... Emily in my wedding gown, Katie in a black strappy cocktail dress, and me in a satin dress... at 11pm at night! ;-)

Life is good!
